Marti exhibited his clocks regularly at expositions in Paris, where he won a Mention of Honour in. The dial is also signed Auguste Le Roy, Horloger Breveté (Patent Clockmaker). The back plate has the Marti mark and the mark of the retailer Le Roy of Paris. The French movement is of high quality and is by Samuel Marti. The dial is cream with blue lettering and has a separate minute ring and convex glass the finely fretted hands are original. It is in stunning condition, finely modelled with good original gilding. It is Rococo in style, asymmetric with acanthus shoulders and a large acanthus leaf top.
